This has been a busy weekend, full of shooting some great kids that I got to work with about four months ago. Ethan is an eight month little man that likes to look around and smile for you on command (almost). I really wanted to capture all of  Ethan’s mood and and not just the smiles. I want parents to have documentation of their child at that age. Sure, the smiles and faces are awesome but you also don’t want to forget the pouty lips and teary eyes that your little humans produce. We had a great time today, battling the heat and the bugs, but I am really happy with the outcome of these photos. I couldn’t have done it without my “baby wrangling pint sized side kick:” Megan Davidson. And another big time thanks to Greg and Susan for inviting me back into your lives a second time to record those eyes and smiles. See you in another four months to celebrate a full year of Ethan’s life.

I photographed little Anastyn a few months ago, and was blown away by this little girls who has an awesome smile and big blue eyes. Today I was lucky enough to spend the morning with Anastyn and her family and capture that smile again now that she is 18 months old. It was a hot humid day and Anastyn had to take a little while to warm up to the big camera clicking away in her face. But after that we began to have a great time walking around and the park, letting her goof off and be cheery herself. I just want to take a second and let this family know that days like this really make me love my job, I was sweating, laying in the dirt, running around in circles, all for a perfect shot of your awesome little girl. I feel like I captured her day at the park and I feel as if caught all her looks, including some pouty and tearful moments. Thanks again guys for inviting me into your lives and trusting me to document your child’s life. I look forward to the next time.

Over the past couple of months my Step Father has been planning a surprise 60th birthday party for my Mom. He enlisted the help of her sisters and myself in preparing invitations, pictures for display, among other things. The secret was kept air tight up until the right time. When she entered the room where she was supposed to be meeting six people for dinner she saw one hundred family and friends from all over the country. People flew in from San Francisco, Vermont, Boston, and even my brother and his girlfriend who came from Ireland. Most of these people will be flying home the next day. It was a fantastic black tie affair with dinner, dancing, and a few toasts to the lady of the hour. Happy Birthday and Mother’s Day to my Mom.

I have been doing a maternity series photo for my friend Nancy since she found out they were pregnant about 7 months ago.  So yesterday we decided she was pregnant enough to go out and get some cool outdoor shots with her husband Brian joining us. We had a small window of time while the light was good, but I think we got some good stuff that they will have to remember this awesome time in their lives. I’m sure there will be a shoot once baby Somi enters the world in July, so stay tuned for that. Nancy and I joke about starting a club for 1/4 asian babies since my little Lilly will be 1/4 Korean. I can’t wait. Thank you Brian and Nancy for sweating with me and swatting bugs that landed on your face. And to my dog June, thanks for getting in the way and giving us plenty of laughs.
