Brian and Mallory Get Married

September 29, 2010

I had the pleasure of capturing the wedding of two great people this weekend. I joined my friend Megan Davidson for the marriage of Brian and Mallory. The wedding ceremony was held at the Mountain Park United Methodist Church in Stone Mountain, with the reception at the Bear’s Best Golf Club in Swannee. Everything was going well after the beautiful ceremony, until the limo didn’t show up to carry the wedding party from the church to the reception. This made for some downtime standing around in the chruch parking lot with some angry phonecalls for the bride’s father to the limo company. We ended up driving everyone in personal cars, resulting in a fun caravan and very late arrival to the reception, where the guests awaited the bride and groom. The party continued into the night and a great time was had by all. I too had a great time and loved meeting so many new people. I want to congratulate Brian and Mallory on their marriage and wish them the best of luck for the future.

My Baby Turns Four Months

September 23, 2010

People told me time would fly, and they were right. I don’t miss the days of the tiny newborn baby, which included sleepless night and scary days. Everything was so new and I was worried if I was going to have a mental breakdown. But now four months later, I am spending almost all day with Lily during the week as a stay at home dad. “Daddy Daycare” is in full effect since my wife has gone back to work. At first it was rough, she wasn’t taking the bottle and she didn’t want to nap for more then 20 minutes at a time. I’m a few weeks into it now and it’s not so bad, we take father daughter field trip everyday, long walks in the evening to tire the family out. She takes the bottle with no problems and she spends most of her time smiling at herself or laughing at me. She is a real joy to be around, and I’m not just saying that. She really is a happy go- lucky baby and I’m lucky she’s ours.

One of most favorite families, asked me to join them at The Atlanta Botanical Gardens over the weekend to document a day in the life of the “Cruchfield Twins.” I photographed these boys days after they were born and now one year later they are walking around, splashing in the fountains, and being great little men. We toured some of the new and old parts of the gardens on a beautiful day here in Atlanta, We were able to experience the newly complete canopy walkway high in the treetops, with a final stop at the splash fountain in the children’s garden. Here the kids can walk around a small ground level fountain and safely cool down. We finished the day lying in the grass, with a Downtown Atlanta sunset, and a a couple sleepy boys. Thank you Crutchfield family for letting me into your lives and helping you capture an amazing time.

More of My Little Lily

September 3, 2010

I have taken on the role of a SAHD, a stay at home dad. So far it’s challenging, exciting, boring, and satisfying all at the same time. I spend all day with Lily, while trying to get things done around the house. She take short naps so I find myself starting a task and then having to drop everything and go get her up. Reminds me of my ADD days. So I might as well break out the camera and keep my skills honed while I have a semi willing subject to model for me. I don’t want to be a mommy blogger and only post pictures of my child, but for now this is what I’m doing with my time. I hope everyone enjoys watching her grow as much as I do.
