It’s Been a Hard Month

July 23, 2010

I haven’t been on the blog scene for a few weeks due to some major life changing events. I will be back with some bright and happy pictures to make everyone smile soon, but for now I leave you with just a few snaps of my father Ralphe Baker who entered Hospice Atlanta three weeks ago to spend the remainder of his life, He is failing fast and will most likely be gone in the next couple of days. He has been a great father and an amazing friend to so many people around the world. He will be  missed.

I took Lily down to Hospice to get a second visit with dad, his eyes lit up when he touched her feet. I’m sad that my little Lily won’t remember these two visits she had with my father but I did my best to capture some of the moments for future story telling. I love you Ralphe Baker.

Angela and I drove up to Highlands NC, on Saturday to spend time and check on my father who has just started home dialysis. While there we were able to enjoy two great hikes in perfect weather, and visit with family in Cashiers. Despite the depressing mood around the house we made the best of it and we had a great visit with Dad. This is a real assortment of pictures taken throughout the long weekend.
