In a quiet little town in North Georgia, in a quite little campsite, we brought the noise. The reception of Hannah and Cam’s wedding was sure to be a rocking good time into the wee hours of the morning. But first there needed to be a wedding ceremony. The weather gave us dark clouds rolling in full of rain, which came down minutes before the wedding start time. Guests were arriving with umbrellas in one hand and homemade food in the other. Cam mingled with family and friends under the cover of the open pavilion, While Hannah waited patiently in her rented RV across the field. Around 7:30, thirty minutes late, the rain stopped and the clouds cleared. We had a small window to get this wedding done without getting soaked. The guests found there places as the bridal party filled into position. Hannah emerged from the RV led by her father, down a hill and across the field. Cam waited with a huge smile on his face as he saw his bride for the first time. The ceremony was very quick, with an exchange of rings, some quick vows and a quick first kiss. Everything that happened afterwords was pure partying and fun. The weather stayed clear, cool, and perfect for eating and dancing all night long.

All the bouquets, were handmade by the girls, from picked wild flowers on Hannah’s property. All the food was brought by family and friends with the cake being made by her sister. The signs around the campsite were made by her dad. It was wonderful to see such a group of close friends and family who really love each other on a deep level. The small town mentality really shined through here. I had a blast shooting it and being part of the party. I want to also thank Wade Collins for shooting with me and doing some fantastic work.

Kelly and JD get Married

December 10, 2010

Yes, people are still having weddings this late in the season. Kelly and JD had an awesome wedding and reception at the Decatur Courthouse on a nice cool December night. I met Kelly and her close friends in the bridal suite of the courthouse basement. She seemed to be running the show and organizing everything while applying makeup and her beautiful wedding gown. I told her to relax and let her sisters worry about the details. Along with her stunning dress, she added black ribbons and bow to her waistline, and then added a new-vintage necklace set that really tied the black and white look together. JD and his Brother ,who was also the officiant, were dressed is classic black tuxes, with new black and white Nikes, a great touch.

A short but sweet wedding ceremony followed soon after, in the huge marble room of the courthouse. During the cocktail hour Kelly and JD wanted to spend the full hour taking pictures of just the two of them. Myself and my best buddy Wade Collins headed outside to get some cool pictures around the Decatur square with some fine results. Back inside, the dinner and dancing began, with the traditional first dance followed by the father/ daughter and mother/ son dances at the same time. JD’s family is Columbian so the music was almost all latin themed, full of high energy and rhythm. Plenty of Salsa dancing, made all the wedding guest look like pro dancers.

Thanks you Kelly and JD for a fantastic night of wedding fun. And an extra special thanks to Wade Collins for shooting with me to capture and awesome event.

Kenny and Leslie Get Married

October 12, 2010

I teamed up with Melissa Prosser this weekend to be her second shooter for an awesome wedding. It was held at Ambient Plus Studio in Downtown Atlanta. It’s an amazing old building with hardwood flooring and white brick walls. The 10 foot high windows gave us tons of light to work with during the ceremony. As soon as we stepped outside to get pictures of the bridal party, we noticed an amazing old green station wagon which provided a great backdrop for the bride Leslie. We used a nearby junkyard and the railroad tracks as well, to round off some fantastic sunset pictures. The party continued inside with cocktails, dinner and then lots of dancing. Leslie and Kenny are in a band, so they sang a few songs in front of their family and friends to kick off the fun night. Congrats to you guys on an awesome wedding and party, and good luck in your coming years as husband and wife.

Brian and Mallory Get Married

September 29, 2010

I had the pleasure of capturing the wedding of two great people this weekend. I joined my friend Megan Davidson for the marriage of Brian and Mallory. The wedding ceremony was held at the Mountain Park United Methodist Church in Stone Mountain, with the reception at the Bear’s Best Golf Club in Swannee. Everything was going well after the beautiful ceremony, until the limo didn’t show up to carry the wedding party from the church to the reception. This made for some downtime standing around in the chruch parking lot with some angry phonecalls for the bride’s father to the limo company. We ended up driving everyone in personal cars, resulting in a fun caravan and very late arrival to the reception, where the guests awaited the bride and groom. The party continued into the night and a great time was had by all. I too had a great time and loved meeting so many new people. I want to congratulate Brian and Mallory on their marriage and wish them the best of luck for the future.
