I had the amazing opportunity to get an all access pass to follow and photograph the Zac Brown Band, during their show here in Atlanta on New Years Eve. The concert was held at Phillips Arena, downtown in a sold out venue, which adds an extra energy. All of the other artist who preform under Zac Brown’s record label (Southern Ground Records) had a chance to preform before Zac came out to rock the house down. All the openers were fantastic, The Wood Brother, Sonia Leigh, and Levi Lowery, just to name a few. The crowd was well warmed up by the time Zac came out to put on a great show. He played up until Midnight, when he did a countdown in front of a big screen with the NYC ball drop. After the confetti finished falling from the ceiling, Zac continued to play a handful of songs. They finished on a loud, high energy note playing Rage Against  the Machine’s, “Killing in The Name Of” It was a great show, with an amazing atmosphere. Here are just a few images from that night. Enjoy.

Occupy Wall Street #OWS #NYC

October 30, 2011

While in New York City last week, I took a moment to visit the protesters in Zuccotti Park in Downtown Manhattan. The people in the park have been in protest for about 43 days now and don’t seem to be weakening. There was a march through the streets right after I took some of these pictures. The march went all over town with police shutting down streets to protect the protesters. I wanted to spend more time talking to the people but Angela and I were on a tight schedule, and had to be across town for dinner plans. For more info on what Occupy Wall Street is all about look HERE.

My Baby Turns Four Months

September 23, 2010

People told me time would fly, and they were right. I don’t miss the days of the tiny newborn baby, which included sleepless night and scary days. Everything was so new and I was worried if I was going to have a mental breakdown. But now four months later, I am spending almost all day with Lily during the week as a stay at home dad. “Daddy Daycare” is in full effect since my wife has gone back to work. At first it was rough, she wasn’t taking the bottle and she didn’t want to nap for more then 20 minutes at a time. I’m a few weeks into it now and it’s not so bad, we take father daughter field trip everyday, long walks in the evening to tire the family out. She takes the bottle with no problems and she spends most of her time smiling at herself or laughing at me. She is a real joy to be around, and I’m not just saying that. She really is a happy go- lucky baby and I’m lucky she’s ours.

5 Season’s Pub Crawl

August 14, 2010

Last night I joined two of my friends and fellow new dad’s for a night on the town. Starting at 5 Season’s Midtown, the pub crawl took us across town, into Decatur, for a visit at Twain’s. We used a full sized chartered bus to carry the 40 plus  beer drinkers from pub to pub. We met a few good people, drank plenty of great locally brewed beers, and had some laughs. I’m looking forward to next’s year’s Crawl.
