Katherine

July 28, 2010

I was asked by some family friends if I would spend the evening photographing their three kids. I did and I got some amazing shots of them all, but these pictures of the youngest girl Katherine stood out and I wanted to share them separately. She was a ham in front of the camera and we all had a great time, shooting and sweating in the Atlanta heat. At least there was a pool.

A Child’s Smile

February 8, 2010

There is something about a child’s laugh and smile that can turn your day around. I grabbed this picture of my little friend Sofie Del Pozo yesterday afternoon just as they were leaving my house. The motion blur from her laughing and moving her head, made this shot special to me.

The Drop

January 22, 2010

I was asked to shoot stills for a short film my friend Crystle “Clear” Roberson, was directing here in town. The movie entitled “The Drop” is a story about a man named Marcus Engle who was in a terrible car accident when he was in college.  He lost his sight and was very close to death as he lay in the hospital with many broken bones in the face and legs. After he recovered and went to a School for the blind, he was ready to take on an incredibley tough exercise called The Drop.  Marcus was put in a cab and dropped off in the middle of a town and had to find his way back on his own with limited help from other pedestrians.  Marcus has become a motivational speaker and author as his current profession. We had a great local crew and we had lots of fun while shooting this great movie. Here are just a small sample of the images I shot over the past three days.

“At 18 I was blinded and nearly killed when hit by a drunk driver. Through years of rehab and hours of reconstructive surgery, my goal was to return to college and recapture my life. And I did it. Now, I’m a professional speaker focusing on teaching audiences to overcome adversity, make intelligent choices and see obstacles as opportunities. Through all life experiences I choose to grow, evolve and learn.”  (Taken from Marcus Engle’s Blog)

The Ethan Show

January 10, 2010

I had the pleasure of photographing a wonderful four month old named Ethan today. Ethan’s mother and I have been trying to set up a date for this shoot for many months and today we were able to make it happen. Ethan was in a great mood and he gave us his little smiles and big round eyes. My good friend Megan Davidson from “The Other Megan Photography“, was with me to help with the baby talk and rattling of toys. Being the mother of a newborn and a two year old, Megan has a great skill of making children smile, and she also knows how long a baby is happy on his stomach while wearing a funny hat. She is a pleasure to work with and a great photographer herself.

I’ve decided to include a slideshow this time to try something new. Let me know if you prefer photos or like the new slideshow idea.
