I was asked to shoot stills for a short film my friend Crystle “Clear” Roberson, was directing here in town. The movie entitled “The Drop” is a story about a man named Marcus Engle who was in a terrible car accident when he was in college. He lost his sight and was very close to death as he lay in the hospital with many broken bones in the face and legs. After he recovered and went to a School for the blind, he was ready to take on an incredibley tough exercise called The Drop. Marcus was put in a cab and dropped off in the middle of a town and had to find his way back on his own with limited help from other pedestrians. Marcus has become a motivational speaker and author as his current profession. We had a great local crew and we had lots of fun while shooting this great movie. Here are just a small sample of the images I shot over the past three days.
“At 18 I was blinded and nearly killed when hit by a drunk driver. Through years of rehab and hours of reconstructive surgery, my goal was to return to college and recapture my life. And I did it. Now, I’m a professional speaker focusing on teaching audiences to overcome adversity, make intelligent choices and see obstacles as opportunities. Through all life experiences I choose to grow, evolve and learn.” (Taken from Marcus Engle’s Blog)
